Carla Ovejas Ramírez, Universidad de La Rioja
Una noche soñé que quería ser investigadora y hoy soy…
My interest on linguistics began when I started the Degree on English Studies at the University of La Rioja, since I always liked English, and wished to become a teacher of that language. From there, I began to read the works offered in class, and to deepen my knowledge in Cognitive Linguistics. After that, I joined a research group belonging to the University of La Rioja, thanks to both multiple research and collaboration grants I obtained over time, and the group itself, which always took me in.
Thanks to the tasks I performed for the research group, I grew interested in figures of speech, particularly in the hyperbole, on which I focus my current study, and is also the main topic of my doctorate’s thesis, since I’m currently doing the second year of my doctorate, also in the University of La Rioja.
I spend my spare time with my family and friends, trying to travel and dedicate time to the small things.
